Exotica Flowers
From a very young age, I have always played with a camera – to the extent my parents bought me a camera at age three. As I’ve grown up, my love and passion for the arts has expanded. After completing my studies at North East Scotland College, I came to Gray’s School of Art to widen my knowledge and engage in life-changing opportunities that can benefit my ambition as a photographer.

“There is nothing in this world that does not have a decisive moment” - Henri Cartier-Bresson.

My goal as a photographer is to capture moments in time. I am intrigued by the captivation of why that moment is so important, what was its significance? What changed in that moment? It’s a strong attraction that creates a sense of curiosity.
This attraction is very valuable in my practice of sports photography. However, the same could be said about my other practice, floral photography with ICM (Intentional Camera Movement). Instead of capturing fast motion, the camera is recording smooth motion of movement, presenting a photograph the viewer would be able to see with the human eye. Yet, still presenting a decisive moment.
By undertaking this approach, I have been able combine my creativity with my other artistic interests such as paintings and art history. Aside from exploring the moment, there has also been an investigation into understanding the power and meaning of how a flower can make one feel.
